Appfetti ("Appfetti", "we", "us") is a studio building a growing family of apps for the Shopify platform. This policy applies to every Appfetti app, unless a particular app's listing says otherwise. Checkout Rules is our first app and more are on the way; the same principles below apply to all of them. Across every app we collect only the minimum data needed to run it, we let Shopify handle billing, and we never sell your data.

Who this applies to

Our customers are Shopify merchants who install an Appfetti app on their store. "You" means the merchant. For the limited store and configuration data described below we act as the data controller, and when an app runs we act as a data processor on Shopify's and the merchant's behalf.

Information our apps handle

Each Appfetti app handles only what it needs to do its job. In general that is:

• Store details. Your shop domain and the Shopify access token issued when you install an app, used solely to authenticate that app to your store's admin API.
• Your settings. The configuration you create inside an app, stored so it persists and runs. The exact settings depend on the app; per-app specifics are listed further down.
• Plan information. Which pricing plan your store is on for an app, as reported to us by Shopify, so the app enables the right features.

How our apps work

Many Appfetti apps extend your storefront or checkout through Shopify's own extension points, such as Shopify Functions, which run inside Shopify's infrastructure. Where an app evaluates store or customer data to make a decision, it does so ephemerally and returns only the result to Shopify. Unless a specific app's listing states otherwise and tells you so, our apps do not store, log, or transmit individual customers' personal information (no names, emails, addresses, payment details, or order history).

Billing and payments

Billing is handled entirely by Shopify through Shopify-managed app pricing. We do not operate our own billing system and we do not collect, process, or store any payment or billing information such as card numbers or bank details. Shopify charges your store directly under the plan you choose; we only receive your resulting plan status from Shopify, as noted above.

How we use your data

Solely to provide each app's functionality: authenticating to your store, saving and running your settings, and enabling the features included in your plan. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Sharing and subprocessors

We share data only with the providers needed to operate our apps: Shopify (the platform your store and our apps run on) and our application hosting and database provider. We do not share your data with anyone else, and we do not sell or rent it.

Retention and deletion

Your store details and settings are kept while an app is installed, and are deleted when you uninstall it or request erasure. Every Appfetti app honours Shopify's mandatory data webhooks: a shop-redact request removes your store's data for that app, and customer data-request and redact requests are acknowledged (we hold no customer personal data to return or erase). Security

All traffic is served over HTTPS. Access tokens are stored in our managed database and are never exposed to the browser or to third parties.

Your rights

Depending on where you are based, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the data we hold about your store, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Some apps handle data specific to what they do. We list those details for each app here as we release it.

Checkout Rules

Checkout Rules lets a merchant hide, reorder, and rename the payment and delivery methods shown at checkout, based on rules they configure. It stores the rules you build: which methods to hide, reorder, or rename, and the conditions for each (cart contents, product tags, customer tags, weight, and cart value). At checkout it runs as a Shopify Function that reads the cart contents and the relevant product and customer tags to decide which methods to show, then returns that decision to Shopify. This evaluation is ephemeral and no customer personal information is stored.

We may update this policy as Appfetti and our apps evolve. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
